    By conducting Internal (Theory and practical) examinations and seminar talks, we ensure about the learning outcome of students.

    Teachers are going to other colleges to deliver talks, to read papers on various topics. They are conducting practical examinations of other colleges as external examiner. They are also participating UGC sponsored national seminars.

    Students are involving in study tour, picnic, and debate and quiz competitions which are beyond the syllabus and enhance their smartness.

    The college is centrally accredited by NAAC and got B grade in 2015 accreditation by NAAC.

    Strength:

    • The department has one seminar library with adequate number of books.
    • Overhead projectors are for seminars.
    • Internal seminars in the department are conducted regularly.
    • Teachers are resourceful and skilled enough in catering need of the students.

    Weakness:

    • Number of faculties is inadequate
    • The class rooms are not specious and LCD projectors are not installed in class room
    • Scarcity of funds to promote research and extension activities.
    • Poor attendance of students in Seminars.

    Opportunity:

    • The departmental course is designed to meet the changing need of the students.
    • The available infrastructure could be better used for upholding the teaching learning process.

    Challenges:

    • Making the present course curriculum as per with the national level.
    • Raising the level competition with other institutions.

Mr. DEBAPRASANNA MOHANTY, M.Sc. (Chemistry)
Reader in Chemistry, H.O.D

Mr. Mohanty is very experienced teacher and has been serving for 34 years; His specialisation is on Physical Chemistry. Mr. Mohanty has wide reputation in teaching physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry in degree colleges of the state of Odisha. He got M.Sc. from Utkal University in 1994 and entered into services as lecturer of this college in 1985. Apart from his academic achievement he has under gone training at Rishikesh organised by Divine life society.

 

MAMATA SAMAL, M.Sc., M.PHIL. (Chemistry)
Reader in Chemistry

Mrs. Samal is very experienced teacher who served for 29 years in this college. Her specialisation is on Organic Chemistry. She got M.Sc. from Ravenshaw University in 1988 and M.Phil from Utkal University in 1989. She entered into services as lecturer of this college in 1989.

 

Mrs. SUJATA OTTA, M.Sc., Ph.D. (Chemistry)
Reader in Chemistry

Dr. Mrs. Otta, M.Sc. (Inorganic), PGDCA, Ph.D. (Solid state and material service). After having Ph.D degree, she was sponsored by SSB DHE in the year of 1997 and was joined as junior lecturer in chemistry in the year 2000 at Kendrapara College, Kendrapara. She was transferred to V.N. (Auto.) College, Jajpur Road in the year 2009. She has already put up 19 years of service and is actively engaged in research from 1989 till date with financial assistance from the institute, UGC, CSIR and collaboration fellowship, IIT/K with  Paradeep Phosphate Limited and Global India. She published a large number of papers in International Journal and also National Journals. She is very much creative in literature and published a number of poems in different magazines.

 

DASHARATHA SAHU, M.Sc., Ph.D. (Chemistry)
Lecturer in Chemistry

Mr. Sahu is a brilliant and dynamic teacher and serving last 25 years of teaching experience. He is a very popular teacher and having good depth in different branches of Chemistry. He got his post-graduation degree from Ravenshaw Autonomous College in 1993. His specialization is Organic Chemistry. He took up the teaching profession in this college in the year 1994. He awarded his Ph.D degree from Utkal University in 2016.

 

JAYANTA KUMAR NAYAK, M.Sc., (Chemistry)
Lecturer in Chemistry

Mr. Nayak is a brilliant and dynamic teacher and serving last 21 years of teaching experience.. He got his post-graduation degree from Bhadrak College, under Utkal University in the year 1996. He took up the teaching profession in this college in the year 1998.
